    So the ancient Solomon islanders wore karate-gi whenever they practice martial arts, which were probably no more than common grappling and striking... Sure Ok, I'll buy that for a dollar!

    I like this. I’ve done MMA for 8 years, moved to Vegas 6 years ago did Krav Maga for 1.5. Haven’t trained for the last 3 years. But, I know having done martial arts for 9.5 total years my odds against an untrained opponent or less trained opponent are probably still significantly higher than theirs to win. Question: Any advice for someone like me (I’m now 21) that doesn’t have the funds anymore for training or time for it.. how to start getting back into it in the way of training on my own? I know technically you can’t really train on your own, but I definitely can’t do training again anytime soon. 68+ hour work weeks then a newborn baby. Just want to start refreshing my mind on the things I’ve learned over the course of the little under 10 years. Thank you! 🙏🏻 Edit: there was a 3-4 year gap where I didn’t train anything. I’m on the smaller side of things I’m 130 lbs & 5’9, and when I moved here in 10th grade I got into quite a few scraps with the other kids because I was the “cowboy” in the school around a bunch of wannabe gangsters.. needless to say I literally didn’t get whooped once so even taking those 3 years off before moving here and now not training about another 2-3 I still new everything

      Take advantage of your mirror neurons and technology today. Use a video recorder. To imagine yourself hitting a homerun 100 times before you come to bat likely will improve your ability to hit a home run. I think there are many examples like that. The other thing by practicing you will get better and better at it and faster and faster so that you don't have to think as much to act out. After listening to many people in military and law enforcement, they tell you that the training kicked in and they seemed surprised by the outcomes so successful. This is just general advice and not meant to be taken as an expert fighters advice. Stay fit stay flexible and keep improving your balance and timing. You'll be amazed how much less time it takes to recover than it did to become. IMHO. You raise an excellent question and I hope you get better answers than what I can provide. No doubt others will learn from it.

    Wanna win a fight? Then fight. Dickheads in life that will start fights and attack people for no reason are just overconfident. Nearly everyone they have an altercation with does nothing because they're scared and confused so the6 develop an ego thinking they themselves can fight. They can't, but they're willing too which is more than the vast majority. The will to fight gets most people further than the ability to fight. Fight. Spar. Get better, and you'll never need to worry about street turds.

      pretty much a counter from a counter. 1st counter is someone backing into you bending over to take your center of gravity away. 2nd counter demonstrated is what to do if someone tries the 1st counter.

    A person standing orthodox would never lead with a jab in a street fight. Theyre goin right hand for the knockout. Try again.

    • @DanielVerkerke
      @DanielVerkerke Месяц назад

      A person who thinks he knows what an opponent will do will be dumbfounded when attacked differently. If you watch someone doing something, then ask them to "Try again" because your going to preempt the counter, it is most likely they will do something differently. You think your getting one step ahead, but your lost when they do what you did not expect.

    Interesting technique. It seems dangerous to be reaching out for strikes like that. Even if it works on the opponent at first, wouldn’t they just feint and throw a right hook, or pivot to their right and throw the cross.
